Today marked the first time i am riding in the rain started from 12.30 pm, the rain was not that heavy ,nothing like that sort of heavy rain back home in Malaysia. It was still ok when i put on my 7-11 raincoat, the rain never stop till i arrived at Otoro Shiretoko national Park Campsite. The morning ride was smooth with cloudy sky along the coast, saw many anglers pilling up the coast line with at least 5-7 long rods. I stopped by the roadside and walked down to the beach to have a look, and i saw they caught lots of giant salmons, and these fish is so costly in Malaysia. Shari is the next town after Abashiri, and i had to stock up my supply here cos' after this town, there won't be any shops for another 41 km until Otoro. On the way i met another touring cyclist Jeff from Canada on the opposite direction. We had a little conversation about our routes. There were a few tunnels that i went thru' and all have a separate path for cyclists,no problem with that, and a waterfalls named Oshinkoshin. By almost 4 pm i arrived in Otoro and after 1 km of steep climb to reach the campsite, as usual this is not a peak season, all the chalets were closed, and there is nobody to ask,so i just wheeled in to one of the chalet, but the space on the veranda is a little too small to accommodate my tent. I managed to clamp my tent but had to do the cooking in the next chalet where i also parked my bike there.
