Can't imagine i had to spend the whole day in Asahikawa just to get my bike fixed. It started 7.30 morning when i saw a road bike cyclist, and stop him to inquire about any high end bicycle shop that i can repair or change my trouble rear hub,and i manually show him the problem. He is very helpful to ask me to follow him back to his house, where his wife served me hot coffee and biscuit. Then he drove his car with my bike loaded to a bike shop which open at 9.30 am, but he couldn't fix the problem after spending about 2 hrs, a lady cyclist by the name Nicole who spoke perfect English, then suggest we went to another shop, but my bike was totally down, the shop owner manually push me while cycling, still the 2nd bike shop couldn't do anything to help. Then the 1st cyclist that i met came again to fetch me to a 3rd bike shop, specializing in bike repair, but still not successful, he then drove me to the 4th bike shop which specializing in hand made bicycle. He is more experience and managed to identify the root cause due to a broken spring in the hub, but was rather confused in fixing the whole assembly, several times he assemble and then dismantle again, and this happens many times,as i was watching closely. Finally by 5 pm, the hub is fixed but was not that smooth turning like before, but at least the root cause had been identified. It cost me 7000 yen. He suggested a camping ground to me, but a little too far as already dark,i just went under another flyover to camp. A real dramatic day for me.
