It did rain today as according to the weather forecast but only started from midnight, and it stopped just at the right time when I am about to roll at 7.30 am. The subway which i slept yesterday did not see a single soul using it,and that's good for me to do the cooking.After rain, the weather is so cooling and a perfect condition to cycle at 16C. With 30 km done,I arrived in Hamatonbetsu and a junction whether to continue the coastal route of 238 or go inland on route 275. In fact i already made up my mind to go inland,as i had temporary enough of coastal road and the strong wing. By going inland,i hope to see some autumn leafs color of the forest in the mountains. I went a bit detour to view the Kucharo Lake with many swan birds in the lake. I stopped at a road side parking where i recharged my notebook and the camera battery. Also i removed the rear tire to check on the flywheel which started to develop a worrying sound, the flywheel sometimes disengaged especially during start-up. Can't really do much as i don't have a necessary tool to open the cassette one by one to check. Hope it will hold until i can find a bike shop to look into it. In a small town of Nakatonbetsu, I have my simple lunch of instant noodle in Selcomart and also bought enough supply for my dinner,as i had finished cooking the rice which i brought all the way from Malaysia. Here they don't sell rice in smaller in 1 kg packing but 2 kg,which will be too much of a weight to carry on bike,so i bought a bento instead for dinner. By 3 pm,when i arrived at the only road station, there is an onsen and also camping facilities, so i am happy to set up my tent under the roof of a common kitchen,with a toilet beside where i just boiled some hot water for shower in the toilet, forget about the onsen which charges 380 yen.
