The ferry docked in Aomori port after 4 hr of sailing, and the crew man had to wake me up when i still sleeping soundly.Quickly i did a wash up and wheeled my bike out from the ship. At this very early morning at 3.30am, it is not a good idea to start the ride, so i stay inside the ferry terminal passenger waiting room to continue my sleep, as there is only one man who boarded the same ship sleeping too. When the day gets brighter with the sun hiding behind the thick cloud, i started to ride at 8.30am to the city. First thing in my mind is to find the Post Office to send back the "Touring Mapples" book to Kenichi , which i did and cost 350 yen. The book has been extremely helpful and really thank him for lending. Now i had to rely on another "Touring Mapples of Northeastern" borrow from Zhen Sheng in Muroran, but the scale is rather too small to read and the version is year 2004. My original target for today is Towada Lake about 65 km from Aomori, I expected some steep and long climbs, but did not expect it to be so tough and challenging. At last, i had to surrender midway in Sukayu Camp as i am really exhausted and feeling cold at this high altitude of 1200m. It is better to feel warm in the tent than trying to arrive late in Towada Lake. The Sukayu camp caretaker is a young man and kind enough to allow me to camp along the veranda, the camp fee is 500 yen.
Posted back the Touring Mapples back to Kenichi for 350 yen
