Perfect weather today for another good ride of 80 km. Bus stop camp seems to be my favorite spot for an overnight stay now. There are many plus points of putting up a night at the bus stop here, Bus stops normally located by the roadside, with roof, sliding door and windows, built in such a way mainly to cater for the comfort of the passengers during winter or bad weather. Save the trouble to set up my tent,i just need to lay my groundsheet and sleeping bag, nobody will disturb you when the bus stop running usually by 5 pm. The only setback probably is the noise from the traffic, but this will thin down in midnight and early morning.Getting out from a big city of Niigata was not easy even with a map, there are just too many side roads and junctions. I had to head to the coast to make it easy for me,as the sea is always on my right. And there is a bike lane with many joggers doing their exercise. From the coastal route 402,i changed to route 2 as to avoid the many long tunnels as indicated in the map, but to my surprise, this small road traffic is very heavy, and at one section a long queue of jam where i was force and fell into the side drain, nothing serious but need to realign my handle stem. In Teradomari town,i saw many stalls selling seafood, and for the 1st time i tasted a big sotong for 350 yen and a bowl of crab soup for 100 yen.
